Improve Your Wellbeing With Think.Focus.Act
Dianne Johnston and her partner Larry Turnley opened their Wood Street premises in 2015 with the idea of collecting a range of health and wellness practitioners in one location, as well as running their own yoga studio and a counselling service from the same site.
“I was practising as a counsellor from our office in the house and as my boys got a little bigger, I found that I was asking them to be quieter, more and more often,” says Dianne. “It got to a point when I decided I needed to practice from somewhere outside of the home. This spot came up in Wood Street and we only live around the corner.
“Our vision quickly became much bigger than just counselling rooms and we thought about all the services we could provide to create more of a wellness centre.”
The Think.Focus.Act community now provides counselling, hypnotherapy, numerology, reiki, meditation, and yoga.
“I’ve lived in Newport for twenty-six years … And I’m proud to have created this safe, homey space that’s been so embraced by the community. Think.Focus.Act is really important to people.”

“We’ve invited in and collaborated with the most beautiful people, from massage therapists, yoga teachers and dieticians,” says Dianne. “I’ve always been aware that often no one thing fixes a problem. At Think.Focus.Act you can feel much better after you’ve spoken with your counsellor, if you incorporate yoga or massage and other treatments.”
Dianne is a long-time Newport resident and loves the friendly, community vibe.
“I’ve lived in Newport for twenty-six years, my kids went to school here and I know lots of the shop owners,” she smiles. “And while there’s been a lot of change recently, with new people moving in and out of the area, there’s still a lovely continuity about the community. Newport isn’t stagnant, it’s ever-evolving.”
And where did the name for her business come from? Dianne was inspired after she read a horoscope in a newspaper.
“At the bottom of the star signs was this mantra that said ‘Think, Focus, Act’. I thought it was so appropriate because it fits in with the idea of manifestation.
“If you think about it, then focus on it and then manifest or act on it, you will be able to achieve your dreams.
“And I’m proud to have created this safe, homey space that’s been so embraced by the community. Think.Focus.Act is really important to people.”
